Green Mountain Falls is a 700-person mountain village in ZIP 80819, perched at roughly 7,800 feet in the Ute Pass canyon between Cascade and Woodland Park. The town was founded in 1887 as a railroad-era resort, and its compact footprint runs from the gazebo and trout pond on the valley floor up steep hillsides toward Crystal Park Road and the Catamount Trail system. Most lots are tiny by Colorado mountain standards (5,000 to 10,000 sq ft) and houses crowd close to the road. The Thomas Trail and the new Skyspace by James Turrell have brought more visitors lately, but the year-round population stays small.

The housing stock tells the story of a 138-year-old resort.
